Change is Good | Starkville, Mississippi Child & Family Photographer

Babies are unpredictable.  And as a parent, you probably already know this.  They are afraid of strangers, they get hungry or they just get tired of the stimulation from us trying to get them to smile.  I never want to be the photographer looking at my watch.  Occasionally, I will have a slow week but most often I go through times of being extremely busy.  And it's because I am a "yes" person.  I really am.  I try my best to ALWAYS say yes.  But I have just begun to realize what a disservice that is to my fabulous clients.  I owe the growth of my business since 2004 to YOU.  I want to be your photographer who can design wall galleries for you, the one who can help you with framing choices and even hang your gallery if you need me to!  And I can't do this by being the "yes" girl.  So change is coming. From now on, a Kim Kelley Photography day will be full with one morning and one evening session.  (See, less looking at the watch during those sessions when no one is booked back to back!) This gives me more time to focus on your session AND editing and designing for YOU.  The shooting aspect is really such a small portion of what I do even though it's my favorite aspect!  This also means that I will be able to accept far fewer clients this Fall.  If you are expecting a baby or would like a child or family session, please call me soon! 662-552-3738  To better take care of clients that are already on the books, I will not be able to squeeze everyone in the way that I always have. Most of you already know that my focus is on babies (young and old) and their families.  We stopped shooting weddings last year and I will no longer shoot engagement sessions.  Senior sessions will only be scheduled January - March of the year.  There will also be a change to mini sessions.   I LOVE certain aspects of minis... the sunflowers, the cotton, the families!  But NOT the time constraint.  I can't help but feel that a 10 minute session is just not the kind of business I want to run.  I want to provide a better service than that.  I do not believe that I can serve you well with such a time limit.  Parents are stressed, I'm looking at my watch.  What if baby needs a diaper change on the way or there is an unexpected delay and they miss their 10-minute slot?  I want to alleviate some of that stress by extending those.  I will be scheduling those 20-30 minutes apart.  This means there will be limited minis beginning with cotton in late September or October.  So if you'd like a cotton mini, contact me so that I can get you on the list!  (Ashleigh & Kristin, I definitely have y'all down!)Baby Henry's time with me is a perfect example of how your session with me should go. He needed a little more time and a few tricks to get warmed up.   Had we limited the time spent with Henry and his parents last week, we would have never gotten to see so much of his sweet little personality.  He wasn't so sure of me at first.  But with some Mommy & Daddy tricks, he warmed up and we got the most precious shots.  It's so important that your little one's personality shines through at their session.  Thirty years from now when you're sitting with HIS baby boy looking through these images, you can show him where he gets his sweet smile or the sparkle in his eyes.  πŸ’•
