Three Months

Sadie3months2 I can hardly believe Sadie is 3 months old already... I remember being anxious for this age when she was a newborn because her doctor said it was the "magic age" and the crying would stop.  Well, he was partially right.  She fights sleep once during the day and at bedtime, but there is no screaming every day {all day and for no apparent reason}.  So now, I can be a "normal" Momma and look back on the pictures and realize just how much my baby girl is growing.  She doesn't look like a newborn anymore...

She has certainly changed our world.  But we wouldn't have it any other way! :)  Savannah & Alex still adore their baby sister!!  And I'm trying to talk them into a photo session soon!  They're not as easily persuaded as baby Sadie is! :)

Campus Fun

Smallproofimg_0006bw I had fun on the MSU campus with Trent and his Mom.  We explored the campus and the MSU Chapel of Memories... I seriously could have sat and listened to Trent play the piano for hours!

I've always been amazed by people who are musically talented.  My brother can sing and play guitar, but he definitely got all the musical talent in the family.  I can't carry a tune... really!!  :)

Thanks to Trent and Renee for a fun evening!!

Come On In...

For those of you who have never been to my studio... it's my house!  Of course, setting up equipment in my house has its ups and downs... I'm a busy mom and photographer and my house isn't always spic & span!  You might find a little dust on my pictures.  :)  But you will find pictures... lots of them! :)  And you'll find comfort... or at least I hope you do!  I want you to come in and feel at home.  I set up my lighting and backdrop equipment in my dining room.  The table gets banished to the corner of my living room.  And these days, it's not unusual to find a box of wipes lying around or the baby swing tucked away in the corner...

I wanted to share some pictures with you.  You can see what things are supposed to look like for those of you who have been for a session.  You've seen my dining room with children's chairs of various sizes lining the walls.  It's actually spacious as a dining room,  just not so much as a studio... but it works for me!  :)  And for those of you who haven't been to see me yet, here is a little glimpse of my life and how I work...

This is a view of part of the dining room from standing in the living area...

And a view of the kitchen and dining room/studio taken from the doorway of my laundry room/office!  {Alex is being silly in the floor!}

And a view of the living room/changing area {for small children & babies}/hang out spot/etc... taken from the hallway door...

I want my clients to be comfortable with me.  I welcome you to my home studio, but I'm willing to travel as well.  I've had sessions in clients homes and it certainly gives a personal feel to your photos.  The choice is yours... your comfort is my goal whether it be in your home or mine.

...because life IS Art.
