Style | Grenada, Mississippi Child Photographer

Style.  A word that really kinda confused me for a LONG time.  I thought that I needed to fit into some sort of category.  I needed to be the more artsy photographer.  Maybe I should concentrate on getting the most clear, bright eyes in my little subjects.  Or maybe my colors needed to pop more.  And what I found was that I really didn't fit into a category at all. Because sometimes, the brighter colors just happen.  And they work.  Sometimes a child's eyes ARE like glass.  Sometimes like with the image below, I prefer the softer color. What I've really learned is that my style is WHO I AM.  It all depends on my little (or big) clients and their interaction with me and their families... what's most important is that who they are shines though in my images.  My style doesn't really have to be defined.  I don't have to attach a word to it...  It's just me and the ones staring back at me through the glass.  And I suppose that'll be a good enough definition for me.  ♥

favorites | Eupora, Mississippi Child Photographer

Favorites.  Such a sensitive subject with me...  Because every time I edit any wedding or session, THAT particular one feels like my favorite.  I mean you shoot a wedding for 6 or 8 hours and they all start to feel like family.  Your family... only extended.  Or you spend a couple hours with a little one at birth, then 6 months then a year, then at every birthday...  you've watched them grow.  They're like family.  They ALL become my favorites. But I've just come to the realization (it only took me 8 years so maybe I'm a little slow hahaa)...  I think 6 months (ish) to 2 years are probably my favorites.  And that's only if someone were to FORCE me to choose.  I think it's the interaction with them... the smiles.  The silliness on my part.  I mean it's ok to be silly with babies!  {And yes, sometimes that silliness spills over into my weddings.}  How could you NOT love this sweet girl?!  She has a big personality already and she just turned one! :)

Frames | Eupora, Mississippi Child Photographer

I've found a fabulous new frame vendor!!  I'd heard of The Organic Bloom before but never took the time to order.  I finally did and boy am I glad!!!  I had envisioned a grouping above my bed with the painting from my friend, Miki McCurdy (who also took the pics of me & Shane).  I ordered the 12x12 silk prints and then chose the frames for them... still thinking that they'd go on each side of my painting and I'd build on that... add a collection of frames, a mirror, quotes... just a mismatch of things that were "us".  Well, I got my frames in last week and they were MASSIVE!  There was no room for any collection of all things me and Shane.  :)  The frames that hold my 12x12 prints are more than 27 inches wide (each)!!The ones I ordered are double stacked.  The Organic Bloom offers single, double stack, twin double stack and multi-opening frames just to name a few!  Email me if you'd like a price on a certain frame!~kim
