"But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; his is Christ the Lord." Luke 2:10-11This is what I want my children to know... that Jesus, God's gift to us, is the reason we celebrate Christmas. Yes, Santa is cool... who doesn't love presents (any time of year!)?! But first and foremost, I want them to know Jesus. And next is family time... the holidays are all about family (and food)... ha! This shot just "screams" family to me... LOVE it! And it doesn't hurt that Jane Kimmel is a DOLL!
This will be our first Christmas without Daddy. I'm extremely sad that we don't get to see him... to talk to him anymore, to get his advice on politics! My kids don't get to fish or camp with him. He never even heard Sadie talk. But I'm SO thankful that he's pain free and "retired" in Heaven. I could sit and cry most days, but he wouldn't have wanted that. So instead, I turn to God. A friend posted this scripture today... "In my distress I called to the Lord; I cried to my God for help." (Psalm 18:6) And the verses continue and towards the end... "He reached down from on high and took hold of me; he drew me out of deep waters. He rescued me from my powerful enemy, from my foes , who were too strong for me. They confronted me in the day of my disaster, but the Lord was my support. (Psalm 18:16-18)The Lord IS my support. On my darkest of days, He is there. Always there... He's there for you too...
